You must select a buffer, other than the primary, as the overlay buffer. The
onion skin feature will not work until an overlay buffer is specified.

This allows you to set the amoun of transparency for the onion skin. If the
transparency is set to 50%, both images are equally visible. If this is set
to 0%, then only the primary will be visible, and if this is set to 100%,
then only the overlay buffer will be visible.
